SI Brixham Interclub 18-07-2024
On a beautiful summers evening SI Brixham held our annual Interclub meeting at the United Reform Church.
We were delighted to be joined by several members from SI Plymouth and SI Torquay.
Following a delicious meal, our speaker for the evening Duncan Kenny gave a most interesting and informative presentation on the various voluntary ecological coastal projects including the Churston Cove exploration including a video, clearly demonstrating the vast amount of sea life just under the surface.
A most enjoyable evening was had by all.
Wimbledon Tea Party 30-06-2024
A Wimbledon tea party was held at a members home on a glorious afternoon. Joined by past members, family and friends; sandwiches, cakes, and strawberries were thoroughly enjoyed by all.
Everyone was asked to wear something white and the event was a great success and raised an amazing £933 for our charity account.
A huge thank you must go to Jessica and Stuart for hosting this event and to everyone who helped.

On Tuesday we held our Summer Fair on the quay where we sold homemade cakes, plants, books, and bric a brac etc. Again the weather was kind and we raised a total of £300. Liz Long who runs Lisa’s School in Kenya had a stall along side ours and raised £100 for her charity.
On Thursday 6th President Gill and several members marched from the Man and Boy statue along the harbour to the slipway with other town organisations where they laid a wreath to the fallen. The slipway was built for US Infantry who along with 32 tanks left on 4th June bound for Utah beach. The US forces also used the slipway for Exercise Tiger in April 1944.
